Location & Travel

01

The Venue

Vilma Sjøbad sits quietly on the edge of the Oslofjord, where forest meets sea and time slows down a little. Once a traditional seaside bathhouse, it has been thoughtfully restored into an intimate, characterful space made for long dinners, sea air, and late-night conversations by the water. It's relaxed, beautiful, and very much about being present with the people around you – which is exactly why we chose it.

02

Transport Information

Vilma Sjøbad is located near Filtvet, just south of Oslo, Norway.

Address: Vilma Sjøbad, Stranda 3, 3480 Filtvet.

The nearest airports are Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) and Sandefjord Torp (TRF). The drive takes around 1 hour from OSL and 1 hour 15 minutes from TRF.

From Oslo, a particularly scenic option is the Ruter ferry from Aker Brygge to Filtvet during the summer season. If arriving via OSL, take the train to Nationaltheatret, then continue to Aker Brygge.

Parking is available around 200 metres from the entrance, just after the turn-off from Filtvetveien. Walk down Nordstrandveien to the waterfront.

Public transport in Norway is entirely app-based. Ruter, Vy and Entur cover tickets, timetables and journey planning.

03

The Oslo Coach

For those travelling from Oslo, we will be running a coach from central Oslo to Vilma Sjøbad on Friday, departing at 1:00pm, and a return coach on Sunday, departing Vilma Sjøbad at 1:00pm. More detailed timings, pick-up points, and confirmations will be shared closer to the time.

Accommodation Arrangements

Due to the relatively small number of available rooms in the local area, we've pre-reserved accommodation for the night of the 3rd and 4th of July across a selection of nearby hotels. To make sure everyone has somewhere comfortable to stay, we'll be assigning rooms in groups and will be in touch by email once you RSVP.

There are also a number of Airbnbs and Cabins in the surrounding area, which can work particularly well for larger groups.

If you'd prefer to arrange your own accommodation, that's absolutely fine – just let us know in the RSVP section so we can plan accordingly.

Everything You Need

The Details

Dress Code

What to wear for each part of the celebration is outlined in the Our Weekend section. Beyond that, as the famous Norwegian saying goes, there's no such thing as bad weather – only bad clothes. The venue includes outdoor areas, so layers are a good idea for Norwegian summer evenings, along with footwear you're happy to dance in.

Gifts

Your presence at our wedding truly means the world to us and is more than enough. If you would like to give something more, a small contribution towards our honeymoon would be very kindly received. There is a button below which will take you to gifting details. Please know there is absolutely no expectation – celebrating with you is what matters most to us.

Additional Guests

As much as we adore your little ones, our celebration will be adults-only. To keep things intimate, we're also unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those named on your email. Thank you for understanding.

Extending your Stay

For those arriving early or staying on after the wedding, the local area – and the coastline beyond – offers some truly beautiful ways to spend time in nature; from hiking trails to open water swimming, to cabin culture and exploring quietly charming villages. Whatever your cup of tea, we'd be very happy to share recommendations if you're extending your stay. Norway really is a special place, and we hope you have time to experience a little more of it while you're here.
